Received my copy of Amy Butler’s Midwest Modern. In the few minutes I had to begin reading it, I was struck by her words about using her appearance to portray her as the confident, creative woman she aspires to be. I have been living in a pale rental apartment without decorating it much (letting my words and personality show visitors and friends who I really am)….the vaulted ceilings in my apartment result in a lot of wall space that has yet to be decorated. After looking through Amy’s book, I have this urge to color up my world..and brighten it up and not depend on my words and personality alone to reveal who I am, but to let my surroundings reflect the real me as well as my words.
With my wardrobe, people already go "oh..that’s so you"..I want my apartment to evoke the same reaction.
