it’s 8:48 PM on Sunday night. I’m about to climb into bed with three books: the Message Remix (Bible), Blue Like Jazz, and a mystery (one of the Jane Whitefield series). I twittered this but it feels positively decadent to be able to read and go to sleep so early.
Today was the next-to-last youth service for this school year, and Bryan taught an excellent message. Can’t wait to discuss it with the junior high girls on Wednesday night.
Here’s my Friday night. The Family Force 5/The Wedding/Children 18:3 concert at church for 800 kids and adults who came from four states for the event… and it had a mosh pit. I smiled through the entire night with the help of some good earplugs. Good thing my hearing test was LAST week…. 48 hours after the concert and my ears are still ringing a bit.
Here are Friday photos.
If you look at the top right corner of this photo, there’s a guy Elena and I called Skull Shirt Guy. I commented on his shirt…and he began a long story about liking the music of Hank Williams Jr. the Third’s music…that his best CD is "Straight to Hell"…but has some good lyrics (and a lot he can’t repeat). Then we heard how Skull Shirt Guy writes country gospel songs. Then he finished his work of loading the equipment into the truck…and we never saw him again. The End.
