I'm honored to be one of 300 people participating in a blog-it-forward scenario created by Victoria of sfgirlbybay.  I've had a blast using pinterest as I find amazing photos online as it only takes a minute to "pin" something I find "interesting" to a board I've created at pinterest.

I was nudged by Mademoiselle Cranky Pants who shared her thoughts yesterday on what home means to her.  I really liked her images of home and family and got a real sense of what home means to her.

Now lets delve into my home…or the essence of home anyway.

family + friends + places for children to play/pretend/create/flourish

My home is a refuge – the one place to be myself – and to let in friends and family.  It's a place where we laugh + cry + talk + have fun + make memories.  How do you capture all of that in a few photos?!   What I didn't show were the items that personalize my home:  the messy-but-still-works linen closet, the yearbooks of my parents and my siblings all stacked up in a corner, the photo albums on the shelf – ready to be pored over by curious nieces and nephews who want to know the story on every family-history-filled page, the cookies baking, the flowers sitting prettily on the table….

I'd show you all of that if I could..but this was about pictures of home….and I've given you a glimpse. Now it's on to Kellie of 74 Lime Lane to see what home means to her!
