Please join me in this indulgence in decor that is French and IKEA in a few photos from Muriel and Ed's Parisian home. The original flat was dark so they knocked down some walls and personalized the home.
A cosy home in 12 steps
1. For Muriel and Ed, comfort and aesthetics are key. ‘We have lots of art. It makes our home unique.’
2. ‘Stripping back and keeping things simple has helped us make the most of natural light.’
3. ‘A good weekend starts with a long lie-in.’
4. ‘At the centre of our kitchen is a table where we can eat together as a family.’
5. ‘We chose a classic neutral-toned sofa and added extra colour with cushions.’
6. ‘Life at home should be easy – so we use furniture we can move around to suit our needs.’
7. ‘Ed arranges lamps to fit what we want to do – read, relax, chat…’
8. ‘We love to read and we can do that comfortably all over the apartment.’
9. ‘The apartment’s original features give the place character.’
10. ‘I like the texture of things, the stories they tell…’
11. ‘We love having plants and flowers around the place.’
12. ‘A big sofa gives the living room a focal point and provides space to add interest with colourful cushions or throws.’
