Morning's Light

beverage: new usual beverage at starbucks just downsized from a "tall" (small) beverage to a "short" (usually the child-size beverage).  but today – I found a new one they won't let me order – even when I offer to toss money at them  -   the sample size cup.  LOVE it.  can't have it.  Want it even more!

 

freakshow:  sharona is being a freakshow about a trip she's taking next week but assured me she's not being a freakshow as in "riding a unicycle wearing panty hose on my head".  

 

 

 

predator:  spent my morning commute behind a tiny sportscar with the license plate "PRD8TR".  does this mean:

a)  predator  ("yes..I'd like to announce to the world that I'm a predator. beware. keep your distance but admire my pretty sportscar.  you may wave if you'd like to show your appreciation.  applause is accepted as well")

b) professional dater (coworker thinks that means a "hooker")

c) proud eater (used to eat, had surgery, and now is on a liquid diet – to fit into the sportscar)

d) proud 8 tires (has two cars – thus 8 tires)

e) probator (coworker was NEXT to the car – not behind it like me – and thinks it was a B instead of a D.  still.. "probator"???)

just got a phone call from my most favorite Irish friend, Madeleine…who had loads of ideas for shows for Vegas this weekend. Sadly she can’t join us for the girls’ weekend.

Her phone call just made my day. Thanks, Mad! I promise not to say “top o’ the mornin’ to ya!” anymore!

if I still lived in san francisco, I would have gone with sharona to a craft event held saturday by lotta jansdotter, and I would have gotten the book "simple sewing" and asked lotta to sign it. because really, who wouldn't want the above art, umm, signature in their awesome book on sewing?

if I sewed, I'd make everything in the book "simple sewing".

in fact, I may get the book and ask my sister in law maya (hey maya, how's it goin'?) to teach me to sew some of the items in the book because they're so darn cute.

I'd BE lotta jansdotter if I could. Her life looks entirely adorable.

Meanwhile..am packing for Friday's trip to Vegas.  My birthday is on Friday the 13th and I'm  flying on Friday the 13th.  But am not superstitious. (ha! I can spell superstitious though, I think)

Anyone have ideas for Vegas?  and packing for the "new" FAA regulations for what I can and cannot take on the flight?  I bought a bunch of 1 oz. bottles for toiletries/liquids..so I think I'm okay on that. 

I'd like to pack a carry-on and not worry about checked luggage.

any Vegas places or shops that are "cannot miss"?!!

Ok.Confession time. I took a photo of someone whose hair, shirt and bag I was admiring.  Well, I own the bag as well – it's a tote I got from Domino Magazine when I subscribed.  So I took a photo.  Then I added text.  Then I shared it with a couple friends.  And now am sharing it with you.  What are the odds she reads my blog?!!  Slim to none.  So I'm chancing it.  And if by any chance she does read this blog? I love this…especially the books in the baskets on the bottom row. I’ve been wanting an IKEA Expedit bookcase for awhile. I should just buy one!

yummmmm…just got an email from Trader Joes about these Mini Mint Mouthfuls.  I don't live near a TJ's but my brother J does.  May ask him to pick some up for me now that Wisconsin is finally getting summer weather!

Gotta go meet a friend for dinner….Italian food.  Meanwhile, let me wipe the drool off my face since I've gazed at the dessert photo long enough..

Am 90% over a cold I got last week but am battling coughing fits that leave my head and ribs sore from coughing – and out of breath. Wouldn't be surprised after one of the coughing fits if I turned around and saw a group of coworkers urging me to go home – to spare them from hearing my must-be-dying-coughs. 

When the coughing begins to subside, I'd like to go see the Sex and the City movie.

Coughs, I never loved you, but it's time to go. I need my life back.  Thank you!
