• Stephanie Cristalli studioI

I've been reading Style Statement this week and have been affected by a word they use in the book: simple.  Thus the Stephanie Cristalli studio shown above really reflects the simple look I adore.

I'm happy it's Thursday, merely because it's one day closer to the weekend.  Am YAWNING like crazy and attempting to wake up and be more alert.  Here's how the week has been:

    • Was going to stop by the pick-up baseball game the youth group had last night and say "hello" but stayed for two hours and then joined them for ice cream. Got home pretty late!
    • Made friends with a beautiful golden retriever at the game. Wanted to take her home with me!
    • It's another busy week – thus planning for one day at a time.
    • Will be in Vegas in two weeks.  Could that be moved up a couple weeks?!
    • Hadn't realized how much I liked routine…. until it changed.  No youth service on Sunday mornings, no small groups on Wednesday night.  What to do with the extra time?
    • Began watching Top Chef but ran out of time to watch.  Someone – please tell me who left Top Chef last night?

I bought three wire crates months ago for $2.50 each. They remain unwashed and empty, lined up side by side underneath the kitchen counter/bar area.

Must think up ways to use the crates for a fun / useful / practical / frivolous storage display.

  • Went to the baseball game last night – Brewers vs. Braves – with Youth Guy, Tech Guy + Katie.  We paid attention – most of the night, but as you'll see, our attention wandered at times. We did cheer the Brewers on to a 3-2 win!

drove over the train tracks on my way home on Memorial Day, spotted the distant sunset, and had to capture the moment.

I'm relaxing for a bit before organizing my pantry and then heading to a cookout with family.

Then I may try to sneak in a trip to the theater to see the Vegas movie starring Ashton Kutcher.

    How's your holiday weekend going?

I think I work with some of Rona's coworkers:

RECEPTIONIST (R): (holding two Doohicky Documents in her hand that I've given her for distribution): "So are these done now?"

ME (ME):  "What do you mean?"

    R: "This is it, right?"

ME: "I don't know. I've given you what I've been given.  The two Doohicky Documents."

R: "Then that's it.  The Head Honcho told me there'd only be two."

ME: [calmly] "I don't know. I've done what I've been given. I'm not told how many items for Doohicky will be coming across my desk,"

R: "HOLD ON. NO NEED TO GET DEFENSIVE."

ME: "I'm not. I just don't know how many there are."

All while I'm thinking, "If Head Honcho told her there'd only be two, why would I have more stashed away?  Fake Doohicky Documents? I'm on a need-to-know basis and I don't NEED to know how many will be coming my way.  If I knew, I might need something like a fruity drink to soothe myself if I knew to expect 28 more urgent documents.

This was moments after R. picked up the Doohicky Document I had for her and she tried to make me feel guilty for not handing it to her this morning.  Apparently I didn't organize my work to suit her schedule.  Really?   I have many people for whom I complete work.  Wasn't aware I had to run my projects by R. for approval.

Who's ready for R. to enjoy her vacation next week???  *waves my arm frantically*

Chez larsson - white boxes - organized

Benita – of Chez Larsson – has posted a tour of her highly organized home – as in the tour of where all her white boxes are and what they hold.

It's the first glimpse I've had into an organized person's home corners and been shown what is in each box.

Benita has taken items that in other homes may not have a place and she's assigned them a box.

I love it.  Count me in as organizing my shelves this weekend!

  • Model here - blg

Finally! Models to pose by the sign in my parking lot! We pull up to my place, the kids see the sign and run faster than the beeping-roadrunner to the sign and immediately begin posing.  Can you tell the afternoon was one fun moment after another?!

It's Friday. It's a holiday weekend.  I'm very happy.  I've made minimal plans – puttering around home, buying some stylishly comfy shoes for the Vegas trip (three weeks from today!), going for some long walks, hanging out with family and friends.  I'd also like to see the movie about Vegas (that Ashton Kutcher is in).  Anyone see it yet?

What are you doing this weekend?

  • What a gorgeous, gorgeous set of wallpaper prints! Now I want to stop renting so I can buy a condo and fix it up all urban and pretty-like!

Found the photo on a new favorite blog, At Home with Kim Vallee.  I like the fact that Kim is fluent in French and injects a French influence into her style.
