• Who has the best doctor ever?  Me, that's who!

He arrives in the office, my Rock Star Doctor who is handsome and used to have a shoulder length blunt haircut…..thus Rock Star! Anyhooo…he offered samples today of a new medicine that may work for me……

Doc: "….so just call us when you need more, and it'll be waiting for you up front."

Me: "…ooh…exciting…as if I had my very own supplier!!!"

    Dark alley

Doc: "That could be arranged.  We meet in a dark alley – I bring the drugs, you bring the cash….."

Me: "Ooohhhh…or one day, I could just drop off a present for you…."

Doc: "Orrrrrr we could meet at Starbucks and casually make the exchange…"

Me:  "Right! Starbucks!  A Starbucks gift card!"

Doc: (crashes back into reality with a thud) "Oh no.  That's okay."

At least I got to meet with the nurse and be handed a plain paper bag with pills in it.  HAHAHAHA.

    Who's happy now?

  • As I receive instant messages and facebook chat messages about The Two Davids, I’m the only one who likes and is voting for David Archuleta. According to one friend, Tim, “David Archuleta would be great for Disney, while David Cook would be great in the real world.” Another friend declared David A. to be “boring” while she loves David C.

    Time will tell.

Gotta go. Must keep texting VOTE to 5702. Little David needs my votes.

  • Mounted photo how-to, originally uploaded by Chez Larsson.

Benita of Chez Larsson is now a blogger! She has a house that is the most airy, organized and clutter free of almost any house I’ve seen [photos of}. She is active on Flickr but recently started a blog. That news made my day!!

  • nephew's violin recital

My niece Mimo (age 3) took this photo of her brother Caleb before he played the violin during his recital. We all snuck out after Caleb played 8th out of like 40 kids (so that we could get Caleb's friend home on time)…

I wondered what if every family snuck their child out after the child performed? by the last child it would be a nearly empty room, the remaining child's family and the three piano/violin teachers! *echo echo CLAP CLAP CLAP echo echo*

  • merry monday

It's another Monday. One more weekend day would have been nice…..to sleep in, go for a long walk, organize the front closet, watch the movie "Once" which, I am confiding in you, I have had since February from Netflix (at least). A friend just wrote me that the film Once took her breath away. I'd also meet a friend for coffee, maybe go to a matinee…. have to see Iron Man at least one or two more times… go shopping for some vacation clothes. Take a nap. Make a tasty salad for dinner and some fresh lemonade. Eat it at my yellow cafe table on the deck – with a good book. That would be a good Monday!

[EDITED: The above image is from wohn idee    http://www.wohnidee.de/    I googled "wohn idee" and an option from Google was found to the right of the website link – offering to translate the page. That was quite helpful as I don't read German!]

  • so I’m a rock star….no, let me say that again, I am a Rock Star to my 3 year old niece Mimo.  (my only niece).  this past week, she’s begun this thing of my sitting by her at every opportunity – then at her brother’s one-year-old-birthday celebratory dinner…and then on saturday at their older brother’s violin recital.  Mimo literally shook with excitement that her Auntie was sitting NEXT TO HER!  oh..the emotions.  she hugged me, she kept leaning her head on me, she’d look up at me with the biggest eyes just to make sure I was still there.

    AWWWW..

the rest of the weekend hasn’t been quite that exciting but I’ll try to relay the fun for you:

    • Friday = date night with…myself.  pizza and a movie – but it was really watching the office’s hour long season finale.  HAHAHAHA kevin.   "that’s a button!!!"  and "Good for you!  You drive your own car???", and Toby’s yelling "does anyone have a CAMERA????"
    • Saturday early morning – the gym + starbucks + library + saw Iron Man (SO GREAT! I have to see it at least one or two more times!).  Dinner with Kirsten.  Then a friend, Kathryn, visited for a night…and we went to church together today…and then spent the afternoon with four teens from church.  Haven’t laughed that much in a long time!
    • Now it’s Sunday night and am late for a Movie Night.

How’s your weekend been?  How are the Bay Area friends holding up in the HEAT!?!  Say hi to my mom.  She’s in Santa Rosa right now until next weekend.

oh yeah – VEGAS in four measly weeks.  My birthday trip to meet friends there.  WOO HOO!

  • A friend, Erik, took some amazing photos at the concert at church Friday night. If I’d known he was going to be taking photos..I would have left my camera at home!  His photos are brilliant!

Youth Guy Bryan Roe + his assistant for the evening, Joey.

    Trademark of Family Force 5.

Youth Guy delivering some good news to the crowd!

People traveled from at least six states to see this show:  Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa and West Virginia!

The company that provides sound and lighting for the world’s largest music festival, Summerfest, provided the sound and lighting.

You can view the entire slideshow here.

  • Wednesday was my nephew Hudson’s first birthday.  Thus a birthday dinner of pizza with family.

Drove way too fast to arrive at church in time to meet with my junior high girls.  Surprise! (or I’d just forgotten!)..a pizza party was given to the junior high kids (boys and girls) for their service project of giving to the homeless in April.  Couldn’t settle anyone down to have a serious discussion so they got out early.

    Here’s the night.

    Jessy_moving_away_soon

Jessy is moving away this summer.  She doesn’t look that sad!

    Youth_guy_bryan_roe

Ya know…if you make that face often enough… it’ll freeze that way.  Are ya payin’ attention, Youth Guy Bryan Roe???

One more week with these girls until the fall.  KC is the sixth grader with the soda bottle who looks sad. She was injured in the mosh pit of the concert at church Friday night – when she headbanged too much.

KC’s doctor told her that her headbanging days are over.  Nice to hear at age 12.  She can tell her grandkids one day, "So I used to headbang!  No, really!  Why are there no photos of me doing that?  Because my Headbanging Years were from the ages of 10 to 12.  I had to retire early because of an injury."

  • Kitchen_shelving_baskets_in_kitchen

I like this photo for the jars, the white dishes, and the baskets above the shelves.  An inspiration to put baskets above my kitchen cupboards.  Storing items out of sight in simple containers.  YESSSS (as Rona would say).

I like the arrangement of artwork on the wall near the stairs.  My front door opens to a stairway up to my apartment.  On one wall I’d like to hang a bunch of photos. The other wall will be a work in progress as friends who visit will be asked to create pieces of art on medium size canvases….so that my art wall will be one of a kind!

    ramblings….

    • tonight is the next-to-last small group tonight with my junior high girls – for the school year.  Of the fourteen girls, two will be in high school next year and one is moving away.  so tonight will be a serious discussion of the youth guy’s message from sunday and next wednesday will be a graduation/farewell/end of the year party.
    • I’ve worn contacts for years. this morning, it took no fewer than 19 tries to get my right contact into my eye.  happy that was not the tone set for the rest of the day.  (or else that’s my double tall mocha talkin’!)
    • my mom is taking a trip to northern california soon…..where I used to live!  she’s visiting there before I get to. sigh
    • it’s all good though..since I leave for Vegas in one month-minus one day.  My birthday weekend away with friends. (plus a friend stowed away in the luggage, if possible)
    • was settled in watching American Idol last night when one of my girls called me and needed to talk.  was good to see her and talk through some of her life stuff for awhile and pray.
    • my ears have stopped ringing post-rock-concert friday night.
    • a new favorite thing to watch has been The Really Real Show on youtube. funny stuff.
    • oh yeah – hoping syesha goes home tonight…and that it’s The Two Davids in the Idol finale. I think David Cook – rock star – will win but I favor David Archuleta.  There’s something distinct about his beautiful voice.  David Cook has "presence" but David A. has a voice that has me download his songs and listen to them repeatedly.  Last night’s Dan Fogelberg song (David’s third song) was so pretty.

I do believe those are all my random thoughts at the moment.

    How’s your week goin’?
