Double tall, whole milk, extra hot, easy whip mocha anyone? Guaranteed to fill the recipient with warmth and warm fuzzy feelings, and provide an increase in energy – with which you may choose to take on challengers who feel that the above order is bordering on high maintenance.
Which means I have to ask. If one orders the above beverage, does that make them high maintenance in life in general?
While at a local wireless store, overheard this conversation:
"I’m sorry, ma’am. I do not know who your husband is."
"No, I do NOT know who your husband is."
"Yes, ma’am, I AM the assistant manager and I STILL do not know who your husband is!!!"
A few moments later, I glanced over at him just in time to see him scratching his beard with the stylus that accompanies the bank card machine at the counter…and I mean T-H-O-R-O-U-G-H-L-Y.
Note to self: Use own stylus and do not call up complete strangers asking if they know your husband.
beautiful simplicity.
It’s Tuesday. I know too many people to count that have the flu. It’s an empty office today. I’m getting high fives (almost) because who is always sick? always getting a cold or the flu? Me. Who does not have it at all? Me. What is happening? Is this some alternate reality?!
Tonight is a quiet night. Am contemplating seeing a movie or checking out this new burger place for dinner…. Five Guys … or Five Brothers or Five Something-or-Other.
Then again, stocking up on groceries* and watching American Idol is kind of appealing.
*My refrigerator currently holds 1/2 carton of milk, six eggs, a few grapes, and a bottle of water.
Do I win? Most mundane blog entry of the day?! Thank you. Thank you very much.
did you see this last night? I literally hit REWIND and listened to the song six times.
Six. Times.
Beautiful voice. Reviewers are calling David Archuleta’s performance "pitch perfect".
I love the K family! They spent the middle portion of their Saturday at my apartment putting up shelves, assembling a table and some boxes, hanging artwork on the walls and keeping me company.
This photo sums it up…(click photo for larger version & to read the text)
As the the official photographer….it’s my duty to bring you more photos from the afternoon:
G jumping on the couch to make sure the slipcover fit perfectly.
S posing again. "Take MY picture….. Can I SEE it????"
I’m walking on the track at the gym this morning. Bright and early. Good for ME!! My ipod needs to be charged so I had no music. Thus I noticed so much more than I should have..and could hardly keep a smile off my face.
Over here is a woman leading her own private aerobics class, complete with some snapping. Uh..do you need a private room in which to rehearse your routine?
Over there a guy is doing a funky stretch that should not ever be done in public.
Woah…there’s the guy who must work out only his arms. Have a fleeting thought wondering if he topples over sometimes because of the humungous arms he carries around with him all the time. Not nice. Must let that thought go.
And then we have this woman: She’s in her early sixties, running slowly around the outer edges of the track. BECAUSE I have no music whatsoever to listen to, I was privileged to hear the gas she passed for multiple seconds as she went around me. She too had no music in her ears which means she must have heard it AND felt it!
I was left looking around like A) What the heck do I do now? B) don’t worry about that right now..just BREATHE!!! just BREATHE!!! and C) Wait…now people will think I did it since she’s long gone but her souvenir remains! Thanks, Lady.
yuk.
Friends are coming over tomorrow to put together some IKEA furniture I bought last month and hang some artwork and shelves.
(On a recent strengths/weaknesses assessment, I scored a big ol’ ZERO on craftsmanship. I mean, I was in TEARS over putting together a metal/wood desk from IKEA not long ago.)
I wish these friends could walk in and see that I’m as neat and organized as Benita is! If you want some inspiration as you clean or organize, browse around Benita’s photos on flickr. So worth it!
Benita… when will you have a blog?
We’re in the middle of a huge youth group last minute trip to an ice cream shoppe when Robotics Guy (RG) and I began a discussion about robotics and the robot his group worked on for months. It’s now in a storage facility waiting to be brought out at a regional competition in March. RG’s talking about an actual engineer who visited their class and mentioned using "connects" and I have no clue what those are. I even RAISE MY HAND to get his attention to ask what "connects" are. I try to relate and reveal that when I was younger, we had "those wooden sticks with wagon wheels at the end".
I get a very professor-ly nod in my direction, "Why yes, K-nex ARE quite similar to TINKER TOYS…..Sunny"
I sink low into my seat and attempt to act as if I were older than three years old. Perhaps it was my sippy cup that gave me away. darn.
UPDATE: I knew someone would have the correct spelling of the object. It’s "K-nex" as Anne reminded me. thanks-a-bunch, anne!!
Arriving home late last night, I found REAL MAIL waiting for me. An envelope from Austria? Are you kidding me? That meant the photo from the Scent of Water Photo Swap had arrived! Could I BE more giddy?!
Ta da!
a beautiful photo displaying the theme of simplicity.
a double sided, laminated collage that is adorable!
The colors and items are very much who I am. She did a great job!
Thanks, Claudia!
