Cute children's rooms via here and here.
Glimpses of beauty and simplicity around the world.
Some favorite inspiration photos for your weekend.
I had friends over for dinner and games last night, and when we needed some napkins, I had to covertly open the pantry closet door to grab some pretty napkins, but alas, the towering contents of this secret stash of miscellaneous items had been spotted. I pretended to wave a Men in Black movie pen ("neuralizer") at my friends to erase their memory of the closet, but somehow I don't think that worked.
I've thus assigned myself the task today of emptying the closet out completely and only putting back items that I need and love.
One friend said the nicest thing before dinner last night. He perused the artwork and the items in my apartment and decided that everything went together – and that it was a look he liked. A retro look full of colors balanced out by white space. He even said the same thing about the Orla Kiely tablecloth (see below) on the dinner table. Glad he liked it. I choose items because I love them and they meld together to display my personal style.
Soon it's off to meet a friend for breakfast-foods-for-lunch and some card playing.
I can organize the closet OR gaze at inspiration photos. I choose the latter.
Happy Weekend to you!
Loving this French look worn by Flora.
It's the bag and the scarf!
Here's how Google Translate worded the outfit description:
Flora has a very nice look, very easy to adopt but at the top…A gray jacket you know gray is the new black so it is imperative you one in your wardrobe, then the big scarf, needless to repeat that the scarf is the ultimate accessory trend this winter and we love the choice of orange that enhances this outfit and bring a touch of color, quite pleasant in this weather all gray and it will pssssstttt THE color this summer. Then the jeans, the essential good basic very well cut, the Camargue which all good, good shape, good color and cherry on the cake … THE bag a sublissime Saint Laurent, the Muse, which we are all absolutely gaga

Happy Friday! What plans do you have?
It's a bit cold here so I'll be looking for some indoor fun. Now that just sounds wrong. I meant things like drinking a mocha while reading a new novel, puttering around the kitchen – baking and cooking, rearranging furniture in the living room and bedroom and napping. I'll be meeting a friend for Saturday lunch and then card playing – a plan a long time in the making. We've been unable to make our schedules mesh for weeks!
The new Harry Potter movie is out so that's a possibility. So is the hunt for dark denim trouser jeans. "Long pants" as I call them as my preferred pant length is ankle length (just above my ankle)… and friends tend to faint when I wear Long Pants. Or, as my mom calls it, they "get the vapors", a phenomena that hasn't occurred in real life outside of novels for a hundred years or more! (hey Mom, how's it going?!)
There you go. Random thoughts spilling from my brain to the screen. Aren't you thrilled?!
I want to share some friday favorites with you. because she has a Goodness Book // because I always watch other people and do what they do – but in my head // when seeking simplicity at home, I often think of miss minimalists's bedroom // because she recognized a busy, cluttered life and made a radical change
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

I have blogged about this before but had to post the photo again. It is about the cutest tiny bedroom I have ever seen. My current bedroom is twice this size but not as cute.
Today has been a "way UP" and "way DOWN" kind of a day. It's evened itself out (thankfully).
Later on will meet a friend for a five-dollar-movie night (seeing Red), and that will cheer me up immensely!
