Let's just call this Mirror Week, shall we?!  I keep finding beautiful mirrors in homes.
Here are glimpses into the home of producer Andrea Willson.
Love that the beautiful home is photographed being lived in!
The kitchen/dining area and the outdoor dining area are my favorite spaces.

    Loving this workspace.

Browsing Pinterest is quite fun. Perhaps a bit addicting.

If you're on Pinterest, let me know. I'd like to follow your boards.
Here's a photo I just pinned this morning to my Offices board.

There's something about this room. I just really like it.
And all this week, I've been noticing mirrors of all kinds.
They really add sparkle and texture to a room, don't they?!

    Those colored bowls…so lovely.

    Lonny mag - cozy bedroom
What a cozy bedroom!  I could curl up on this bed and read for hours –
while gazing out at the sunshine or raindrops.

Lonny mag - cath kidston white desk
Loving the white desk and chair.

Watched "I Capture the Castle" last night on DVD.  Had been reading the book but also had the DVD from the library so I decided to watch it.  Loved the decor and the clothing.  Really liked the movie and do recommend it. (Had to take a few minutes at the start of the film to get over the fact that Henry Thomas – the little boy from the movie E.T. – was one of the main characters.)  The main focus is on Cassandra, played by an actress who is beautiful and has such an expressive face.

Now I'm looking for more movie and book recommendations. Any suggestions?

  • Ingrids home - 2

Ingrid Erøy and her family live in a 1926 home that started out (for them) needing a lot of work – as in they had to renovate the entire house.

Happy colors characterize also their home. Neutral walls and floors in white and light gray are quiet background for the green chairs, orange pillows, floral lampshades, and red stools. bowls, vases, jars, cups and saucers in all colors standing around like little, delicious candy. Many of the items purchased used, but either Ingrid or Remi's rabid flea commuters.

In the kitchen, the family gathered around a rectangular dining table as they came up Finn.no. The light above the table was Remi bought one day he accidentally walked past a hair salon that was to close down, where they sold out the inventory. The shelf on the wall is from the house's former kitchen, the chairs are purchased on the used market.Much old, something new.*

  • Green bag + contents with text
click photo to see a larger version

Was double-dog-dared by nicole to reveal the contents of my bag without editing or cleaning up the bag!  What's missing is the spaghetti and veggies I had for lunch (yum!) and my camera (uh..using it).

Here's what came out of the big green tote:

    • sheet protectors holding a project by sally of shimandsons.  I need a great idea for a welcome-to-the-8th-grade-girls-group for my church girls this fall.  Sally's gift idea may be just the thing!
    • keys (was challenged by a teen the other day about the use for each key..and was impressed that I use every single key on there.  nothing extra.  I'd much rather have two keys on the ring, but that's not happening soon).
    • pen
    • lipgloss
    • lipstain
    • sunglasses
    • wallet (UK Designer is: ZPM.)
    • checkbook cover used to hold two spending categories: gas and groceries
    • marimekko makeup bag
    • gum
    • laura bennett's book. loved it and will buy a used copy soon.
    • water bottle

now…what's in YOUR bag?  feel up to revealing the stuff you lug around daily?

  • Shoestring mag

found this: shoestring mag – when I googled Budget Living Magazine. Looks cute.

Also found the domino mag flickr group.  JACKPOT!

sooooooooooooo what's going on? (rocking back and forth on my heels, looking around the room)

what's new with you?  (still not making eye contact with you)

I confess. I have another blog.

There, I said it.  This one we're on here seems to have narrowed itself (okay – I narrowed it) to Pretty Pictures Only.  Why? I don't know.  Then I have this other blog about decluttering my closet, working out and trying to get rid of some spare pounds that stick around, and other fun projects…..and am having fun with it.  THIS blog, my Pretty Blog, is amazing to put together.  The other one? fun, fun, fun…for me anyway.  (pardon the many "me" and "I" references here.  will ban myself..uh…Sunny..from using those again this week)

You're cordially invited to view the Other Blog.  If you'd like.  I'll welcome you in, hand you a mocha, and we can curl up on the couch and chat about why you haven't seen Inception yet – or you can teach me to crochet something more than a double-stitched potholder.  Or we could just shoot the breeze.  Anything's possible.

  • Decluttering - brussels - 1

Am reading a new-to-me blog called Ladybug which featured a decluttering session and inspiration pages posted into design journals using pretty masking tape.  (Aren't you happy I explained what the photos already illustrate?! Sheesh!).  It caught my eye because I just went through a huge stack of magazine pages dating back five years and ended up tossing over half the pages because my style had changed.  But in that stack were some treasures – some articles I'll post here very soon in case they could be your treasures as well.

Another blog worth checking out is "journal futile".  Both this one and Ladybug are written in French so I depend on google translate to help me read the posts.

I read a blog post recently that pretty much kicked my butt.  It mentioned how someone might talk forever about travel but never do it.  Anyone who knows me realizes that I love all things French and want to visit Paris someday.  Apparently I'm all talk and no action, thus my goal is to start saving up to visit Paris by 2011 or 2012.  Heck..how about 2020?

  • Laviva_home4

How did I miss this sneak peek of laura aviva's place back in December?  I do not know. Must move on and enjoy the photos now. I love the simplicity in the decor, the purple hat I thought was a big pouf at first, and the wall colors.

I just got word that the tramping through of my apartment by the building owner and the roof repair guy will take place "this week sometime..maybe".  Woo hoo..more time!  I still need a night or two to finish putting everything away that was taken out of the closet.  *whew*

Hope your weekend was swell.  What did you do?
