great mix of clean/fresh + rugged textures. and then there's this bedroom.

Glimpses of beauty and simplicity around the world.
There's something about this room… it's not perfect but there's this openness about it, this spaciousness that gets to me which is odd because I normally like clean lines, items arranged neatly in order, and things here are not in precise lines.
Some things you just can't explain!

This lamp is beautiful.
Because the orange lamp is on my mind, I'll be hunting for one at the largest rummage sale my city has each year – which happens to be this Saturday morning. It is hosted by a huge church and there are items in every single room – entire rooms for just purses – and just shoes – and just books and then games… Each year I find something amazing to cozify, warm up, organize or pretty up my home.
It's almost friday. That's worth celebrating!
Here's the thing. I love the photo above from this modern farmhouse in Belgium because of all the clean lines. But what the heck do "clean lines" mean?! My friend Sharona loves to neaten up her belongings into tidy piles before she can think clearly. I watched her do this during her last visit to my house and loved the idea. Tried googling terms to find out what that would be called but am stumped – would it be "anal retentive"? OCD? "clean lines"?
How would you describe the need to put things into neat piles and clear clutter before you can think clearly?
Onto the farmhouse. There's this open, airy kitchen and some more spacious rooms – including an attic area that is clearly for kids. I would have LOVED having one of those rooms as a child. It's like something out of books I've read!
Wallpaper is a new favorite of mine. Naturally in a rental, I can't put any up but I will continue to admire patterns! Here I wouldn't like the wallpaper as much without that gorgeous chair in front of it!
Again, I like the furniture shown with the wallpaper. Stripey goodness!

There's something about these two dining areas that draws me in. In the first – it's all the blue! In the second..it's just a pretty little dining corner! (images)
It's FRIDAY!
Here's some organized goodness from Rachel of Smile & Wave!
I love boxes turned sideways as shelves + jars + baskets + containers + blue. She has it ALL here. (images)

I shall pretend this afternoon that this is my own bedroom looking all stylish and pretty and that in the glossy red lockers are stowed some secrets and a pared down wardrobe. Oh look, I left some beautiful red shoes behind.
Two artists, Johnny and Stacie, designed this Minnesota loft that has a modern feel with "a pinch of eclectic vintage".
