• Fog

Have been in a bit of a fog for a few days.  The gray, snowy weather?  Lack of sleep?  Not sure.  Worked out this morning and will add more workouts in the next few days.  Perhaps that will be the key to being more alive during the day!  Meanwhile, how about some color and inspiration?!

Ooh..but first.  Saw Valentine's Day last night.  Cute movie.  How adorable was that little boy who wanted to get flowers delivered on Valentine's Day?!  So cute was he that I could forgive the only other couple in the theater with us who kept talking in loud voices – recapping what they'd seen.

Now…on with the charming photos from my flickr contacts!

  • I have yet to settle on a design for my home office which is really a nook just off my living room.  For inspiration, I turned to livingetc.com for their office gallery.

    Good Monday Morning!
How can weekends go by so quickly, I'll never figure out.  Was a gray, sleepy weekend that I wanted to sleep away but instead, I  visited Target to pick up a few home essentials, met up with some friends, and also watched my six year old nephew, Shawn, participate in a gymnastics meet.  I have never seen someone more born to do gymnastics than my nephew.  My brother and sister in law joked – but were serious as well – about Shawn being in the 2020 Olympics if he chooses to keep up with gymnastics.  I had a great time talking with the kids and parents at the meet.  My friend Maridee once asked me, "Have you ever met a stranger?" and my reply was "No, not really!"  No wonder I made new friends at the gymnastics meet on Friday!

You're probably wondering when I'm going to tell you where these photos are from!  Well…they're from a new-to-me blog called "A Few Things From My Life" that is full of beautiful inspiration and photos of her home.

Amy of Sweet Sweet Life tagged me to share seven things about myself.

    1. music: Amy's list o' seven was all about music. I am admitting here that I know little about music.  There are thousands of great bands out there, and I know none of them.  Thus, any musicians/groups you'd recommend, I'll gladly listen to!  My current favorites are Jack Johnson, Corinne Bailey Rae and Norah Jones.  (mellow MUCH?)

Everland orangutan & cute girl by floridapfe.

    2. childhood: I lived in Korea from about the ages of two to 10: in Seoul and in Taejon. Thus I missed out on a lot of American stuff (including music!) but I got to grow up overseas.  I consider that cool enough to counteract the missing American experiences.

    Tim hawkins
    3. watching: I'm addicted to finding new material by the comedian Tim Hawkins.  Went to his performance Saturday night and got a photo taken with him after.  I had laughed and laughed until my cheeks hurt.

    Roller skates
    4. skating: Wanted to compete in roller skating figure skating competitions when I was younger.  Then it switched to figure skating in ice skating.  Did not pursue either, but am still dreaming of owning both a pair of white roller skates with pom-poms on them and a pair of white ice skates – and looking graceful while skating.

    5. secretly creative: Maybe I should say inwardly a creative-wannabe…. I can draw stick figures but appreciate beauty around me – I just can't recreate it.  It's like a music pastor I once knew – who wasn't very musical but he was the most content hearing beautiful music and leading a choir.   I love art, beauty, pretty photos and beautiful objects found in everyday life.

    Chronicles of narnia - b - w
    6. reading: I have been reading beyond grade level since I was six.  At seven I was given the set of books in the Chronicles of Narnia series and read the entire set at least twice that year.  I blame my nearsightedness in a family of non-vision-impaired people on too many of my late nights under a blanket with a flashlight – reading books at close range.

My New Toyota Rav4 Sport by j00wish.
    7. driving: dream vehicle for looks is a red Toyota Rav4* but for function and durability – a Honda CRV. However, my 12 year old Honda Civic, Sophie, is hanging in there.  Until it no longer runs, I'm with Sophie. After that? A new-to-me small SUV!  [*I see Rav4's everywhere I go.]

Tagged no longer!  My turn to tag……Nicole, Sharona and Erinn    Please feel free to participate but there's no pressure.  Anyone else want to share their "seven"?

Whizzing around online….starting with Apartment Therapy's Kitchen Cure flickr group and moving on to a handful of the members' favorites pages, I stumbled upon the bedroom photos of a high school student whose room I admire!  She's 17, and I can tell you when I was 17, I did not have this much creativity or style.

I should mention that we did not have The Internet when I was 17.  Our Commodore 64 computer had a tape drive which required one to fast forward to the next program on the tape, and we used a small television as the monitor.  Thus the start of my computing experience increases my current appreciation for all the inspiration that one can find online.

I seriously want to paint and script the same labels onto my dresser! Her handwriting is terrific!  [Maridee, this dresser reminds me of the mirror you filled up with text!]

  • Welcome to this world, little Stellan! He was born a mere 90 minutes ago…to the youth pastor, Bryan, who is in charge of the youth ministry I work with, shown here with his wife Brie. (I thought for SURE they'd name their son a "Br" name but they didn't!) Stellan is a unique name and and adorable one for sure. Thanks for letting me indulge in a little personal photo here! Congratulations, Bryan and Brie!!

Artwork – hearts – by the daughter of Amy (sweet sweet life).  I adore it – perfect for Valentines Day!  Happy Valentines Day, by the way. Hope your day was sweet!   I spent the afternoon with one of my favorite girls from the youth group, Molly, and she helped me pick out a new phone.  Then had to dash off to meet a friend, Kirsten, for some fresh Asian food.  It is now time for some Olympics and a manicure!
