I have never had (or seen in person) an advent calendar but what a multitude of gorgeous advent calendars exist that are creatively done! What a way to lead up to Christmas Day. Perhaps next year I'll give it a go. Meanwhile, look at this beautiful one…

While it may be snowing with a blizzard alert out there, inside there exists some organized goodness such as this photo from Shanna Murray. I use a bag made by Shanna to hold my digital camera, a small notebook and a pen…and when I received the package last year (two years ago?), I was delighted with the personal note Shanna included in with my order. Even the note was a work of art, but really, are you surprised?!

It's been snowing in Wisconsin where we're all bracing ourselves for an onslaught of snow tonight. I stocked up on necessities at lunch. Well… necessities if that includes milk, eggs, steak, natural peanut butter, chicken and pasta. Tonight's dinner is steak (was on sale!) and baked potatoes. How's this for getting off track? I wanted to show you some pretty towels.
I only have one tea towel at home, but after seeing these Tikoli towels, I have this urge to stock up on colorful tea towels. I also ran across this home. Lovely!

Last week was a whirlwind! Sharona was in town, and we always had something to do. Friday was a day in Milwaukee at the Art Museum and battling the cold, cold wind as we walked the downtown streets. Escaping into a chain bookstore then a local bookstore for warmth was quite comforting in itself plus the fact that browsing for books is fun!
I visited the third floor of a used bookstore – and found what I'm calling my "treasure": a stack of 16 issues of the out-of-print Domino magazine! There are some duplicates so I may be giving some away here if you'd be interested – or maybe a magazine swap?

A homemade lunch, originally uploaded by sunnygirlwi.Sharona (my guest this week) and my friend Anna made a beautiful, delicious lunch today and delivered it to my office. I had the prettiest lunch in the office kitchen! A salad with a side of creamy caesar dressing, a toasted cheese sandwich, and some chips. Plus a little friendly note tucked into the basket as well.

Eco-Stylista is a great blog on which to find pretty interiors. Today she's posted about House Doctor (love how she clarified it has nothing to do with Hugh Laurie's character on House!)….and the site has a catalogue. You know this is how I'll be spending my day off tomorrow….drinking a hot beverage and perusing the catalog while daydreaming about transporting all the House Doctor items to my humble abode! (speaking of which, two friends help me style up my home a bit this week so I need to take photos to share here!)
UPDATE: House Doctor has a blog, and a pretty one at that!

I cannot stay away from beautiful white homes! Before seeing the first photo, I had a similar idea. Last night a friend (Thanks, Anna!) spent an hour to complete a project I'd started for the living room wall: stretching pretty IKEA fabrics in gray and orange over some wooden frames of various sizes. It looks amazing! (Yes..I will take photos of it as soon as I install the art over the couch. Didn't want to bother the neighbors last night with pounding nails into walls at 9:30 PM!)
Here's something else for you: a new-to-me blog that is Norwegian – which is where these photos originated.

A loft found via stylist abigail ahern.
loving the brick walls. my brother
and sister in law live in a town
where they want me to move…
and the town has these great
apartments in a renovated mill.
loads of exposed brick walls
and character. that's what I like.

While my guest for the week, Sharona, is curled up at home on my loveseat, working on her laptop in comfort, I'm viewing this sunny kitchen and wishing I could work at that table.
Here's Sharona at my apartment – we had to call tech support for my wireless router and were walked through the corrections needed – step by step. Lovely!
