• Julia and her three girls live in this house that's full of color and style.  It's the first kitchen where I've seriously considered open shelving – because theirs is so darn cute!  And the color everywhere.  Perhaps it's time for me to give up visions of all white.  Thanks Dos Family for another great house tour!!

  • Wish there were many more photos of Olli + Lime owners' flat renovation.  The rooms I see are perfection!  Look at that gorgeous Orla Kiely bedspread in the bedroom!

  • Dear Rona,

You have to check out this blog entry.  I'm catching up with Maggie on Mighty Girl when in a momversation about spying on nannies (irrelevant to me as I have no kids and am not a nanny but it's still interesting) I see a blogger whose blog I'd like to read.  I attempt to visit http://www.finslippy.com as THAT IS THE SITE LOCATION, but Google Chrome is all (in that sympathetic, female, auto-phone-system voice, tilting her head), "I'm SORRY, i didn't quite get that!  Shall I take you to http://www.finslippy.com?"   WHY YES, YES YOU SHOULD.  Oh goodie...for that is so far off what I attempted to visit.

Anyhoo, Finslippy has a post which mentions READING in the SHOWER…I thought you'd find this witty, unclean blogger's blog a good read.

    Sincerely,

    Sunny

Why isnt it possible to read in the shower? And people wonder why I don't bother…

  • It is Friday.  Such a good thing.  Friday nights have become my chance to unwind from the week at work by getting takeout for dinner, catching up on laundry and watching some DVR'd shows. Tonight's shows will include Project Runway, Models of the Runway, Drop Dead Diva and The Soup.  [Did you know The Soup has a blog?!  So great.]

More weekend items include seeing The Time Traveler's Wife (as I adored the book and can't wait to see the film), completing at least two 15-minute segments tidying up a cluttered walk-in closet, and cooking two entrees to be eaten as dinners and/or lunches next week.

Perhaps while I'm working in the closet, I'll aim to pretty up the closet and bedroom after being inspired by these photos.

Glancing at the first photo, I thought the apartment above was the same as the orange + white  kitchen/loft that I showed earlier.  But it's not.  This one is great too!

  • Abigail Ahern introduces some private spaces and then shows her own nook at home she calls her own. I have one of those: a little office/library that has tall, slanted ceilings, a loveseat tucked below the window, a bookcase, and my mom's dressing table which is currently doubling as a desk.  Guests gravitate to this tiny room – which has become a favorite of many.  But it's mine – the place to watch a thunderstorm, to read a book for hours, to browse magazines and rip out favorite pages…

Until I take the photo of my room, here are two others that are so very pretty:

  • Bloesem Kids has a line of blog posts that are all house tours.  How fun is it to drop in on someone and see their home and read about how they thought through the design, organized their belongings and found the perfect items for their homes?!  Wish I could do that in real life!  (Watch out, friends, I may just do that!)

Before I subscribe to this set of blog posts, here's an assortment of house tour photos that caught my eye.
