I had some fun with photos in the last post..but didn't realize the photos would be like Cinderella and *POOF* would disappear after a few hours. The photos have been replaced..if you'd like to see them in context of the accompanying story!

So the poor guy who was rude to me after our blind date has had a not-so-good week. His car broke down, and here's what he picked up at the rental car agency:
Then he met another blind date at the museum….
Seems everywhere he turned, there I was.
But I wasn't really in any of those places, of course. I was dressed up and on my way to see the Glenn Miller Orchestra for a fun evening!
A happy ending indeed.
The End.

I have never heard of Hygge House until today but now I'm in love. with a blog. and a lifestyle. and a beautiful home. On Decor8, I read Alex of Hygge House's favorite things and her thoughts on simple living.
I’m especially glad that Holly only asked for a few things as I actually only have a few things as I live pretty minimally with the idea of buying only what you love or need. It’s a topic that I write a lot about on my blog, Hygge House where living well and living simply encompass the Danish word “hygge.”

hodgepodge of photos
selected a few photos tonight that reflect my thoughts of the moment: a bit darker than usual, jumbled around..(my thoughts, not these images!). Perhaps it's time for some creativity. My apologies. I do not know where these images are from. If you recognize them, please let me know. Thanks much!

This sneak peek of Nicky Crowley's apartment helped me decide what to do about bedding. I was going to go with all white – but now I will be adding a multi-colored blanket to acquire the look shown here.
As for the photo below, I adore hooks and admire the arrangement shown: the simplicity, the order. Lovely! More photos can be found here.

I just really like this photo.
The spare decor, the art on the wall, the pretty dress + bare feet.

Love this door! Just after college, I visited a school friend who is quite creative. Tucked behind her bedroom door at home was a cheap full length mirror that she'd written on with black marker. Quite creative! But at the time, I was inwardly SHOCKED and APPALLED that she'd ruin a perfectly good mirror. Then the thought occurred, "It's JUST a mirror and there are millions more like it. How creative is she?!!! Very cool."
This time – with the door – I skipped the APPALLING THOUGHTS and jumped right to…"wow. nice!"

Jeff – Big Brother 11
I never EVER talk about how I watch Big Brother. I'll watch it each summer but not tell anyone I'm watching..then when fall arrives, I forget that I've seen it.
At lunch with my aunt and cousin this weekend, I found out that their friends who were at the lunch with us have WATCHED BIG BROTHER FOR ALL 11 SEASONS! Are you kidding me? So 90 minutes at lunch and we talk Big Brother for the last five minutes. Finding others who also watch stunned me. So now I'm wondering who else is watching….?
My favorites are Jeff, Jordan, Russel and Michelle. Wait, Kevin too. Love his observations about the house. Least favorites are Chima, Natalie and Lydia. HELLO. Jesse didn't die..he was merely evicted from the Big Brother House. All that sniffling and crying… gimme a break.
In other news..I'm battling FRUIT FLIES. Yuk. I'm trying all kinds of fruit traps to get rid of them but am wondering if I should just go for flypaper strips. I've cleaned the kitchen thoroughly, tucked all the fruit into the refrigerator, and am doing dishes quickly so that nothing lingers on the counter. I've put pieces of fruit into ziplock bags and then zipped the bags shut, but that took care of like eight of the 100 fruit flies. Any hints?
