I adore the blue bedroom with pops of red!

a little citrus goodness….. love the cheerfulness those colors exude!

okay – the last one wasn't citrusy but it's an adorable room.

handful, originally uploaded by jena ardell.
Worked intensely all day to meet a deadline..then thankfully as the Dreaded Hour arrived, the client called to postpone until tomorrow – granting me the ability to breathe fully and slow down in order to prepare the documents accurately without rushing.
Arrived home to make dinner but decided to rearrange both the dining room and the bedroom – which led to vacuuming where the bed used to be – then grabbing a second, smaller vacuum to do the baseboards. Then figuring out how to change the big vacuum's bag.
The end result is clean flooors, a tidy dining room, and a pleasant new bedroom where all feels fresh merely because some furniture was moved around.
Now to enjoy some berries and a salad on the deck on this pleasant summer night.
sorry. funky paragraph formatting. no clue how to fix it in typepad.

Since adding color this year to my wardrobe and accessories,
I've seen bright splashes of color everywhere!
Color Me Blogg, has my complete attention.
I've intended for months to pick up a pair of red shoes but then forgot about it.
Seeing these photos has me adding red shoes! to a shopping list as well as a yellow wrap. -

I've been smitten with french chic since reading the book by the same name by Susan Sommers when I was in high school. I've never been to France but took French in college and love to find French blogs. Here is my top favorite French blog: Olivelse. It's the perfect combination of french chic + beautiful colors. Visiting Olivelse this morning reminded me that I need to visit her blogroll friends to see what other goodness is out there!
I was drawn to her blog the moment I saw the following set of photos after she had her second child in 2007. After all, when do you see such colorful clothing/blankets in the U.S. when a child is in the hospital??? Heck, I'd love a sweater that cute along with bedding in those colors!
UPDATE: Olivelse has an online shop! She has a blanket like the one shown below – for sale! Gorgeous.

I love these photos Emma posted of a "real Swedish apartment." She seems surprised by the interest in Swedish decor and states that the average Swedish apartment looks nothing like the ones a lot of us like. But she showed photos of a stunning apartment that was for sale.

surviving…blind date on Saturday night. How the HECK do people do this whole dating scene? My married friends all sigh and say they're happy they're not dating. Saturday Night's Date (SND) was a nice guy but there was no chemistry. Add to that our small age difference of five years seemed magnified because he looked older than his years and I look about 10 years younger than my age. We agreed to go our separate ways…and I may be happy single! Mentioned the whole dating thing on facebook and got a myriad of responses from "prayer!" to "lots of drinks" to specific online dating sites recommended.
sunday…was a nice relaxing day with a refreshing lack of drama

Angela emailed me with another link (found on Apartment Therapy) to Swedish apartments. It's Innerspec, a Swedish agency handling the sale of apartments.
I grew up reading books about little girls who had bedrooms I pictured just like this. *swooning* Is it too late for my bedroom to contain an iron wrought bed, hardwood floors and a little desk at which to practice my penmanship?!
(to the left is a sleeping nook…with just barely room for a bed. adorable.)
