I end up starring and sharing all the pretty posts and photos that I find irresistable..and they can all be found here. Are there any blog readers out there that I'm missing out on? GR is the only one I've used…so I don't know if something better has come along.

The sun is out. I worked out this morning at 5:45 AM yet cannot wake up. *yawn*
perhaps drinking extra water today will help.
had a quiet night last night. watched some shows that I've delayed watching from May (CSI:NY, New Adventures of Old Christine, and even the American Idol last night of competition before the finale). also cooked dinner (goulash) and baked (vanilla-chocolate chip – peanut butter muffins).
Without a regularly scheduled weeknight as a youth group leader this summer, I have more time…but haven't done a thing with it. No closet organization, no museums visited. Perhaps it's time to make a summer list of projects for fun and to accomplish around home.
There's this thing called perfection. I get paralyzed by it. Instead of slowly making progress 15 minutes at a time – on a huge closet where I've pulled everything out and dumped it on my bedroom floor – I've stared at the mess, thought about it, wished it would go away, but have done nothing about it for a month..because you know, if I can't do it perfectly, I can't do it at all. I know that's my thinking and am trying to realize that doing something – ANYTHING – would kick the perfectionism to the curb and get something going on the closet.
This happens at work as well… getting paralyzed by too much to do…and then finally realizing that doing something – anything at all – is better than nothing….so I pick up one piece of paper and handle it…before moving on to the next.

Sparsly decorated rooms draw my eye, but just as I've always admired those girls/women who can just be themselves and look great no matter the hairstyle/clothing choice/amount of makeup….. I also admire rooms that look cozy, comfy and lived in. Photographer Trine Thorsen photographs such rooms.

How's this for beautifully organized? The Small Object had these photos to share from the author's home. I left this comment:
I love the photos of your baskets….how wonderfully organized you are! Quite inspiring, really. Must go home and view my baskets + items to be organized with fresh eyes – keeping your photos in mind.
I don’t subscribe to Everyday Food and haven’t ever read a full issue. Is it worth it? (I ask the person who has many issues on hand…)

Spent the afternoon and evening with these two: niece mimo and nephew hudson. Who needs a playground? As we entered and exited Target, both ran to the big red balls ("Wipeout" anyone? on ABC) and Hudson would run from one to the other – yelling TOUCH, TOUCH!!! Mimo would sit on one and when her brother intruded, she'd move to the opposite one – on the other side of the entrance. The kids were occupied this way for 15 minutes. We'd just had dinner at Culvers (burger/ice cream place) where I jumped up a million times to get napkins, straws, ketchup and the like. Each time, Mimo yelled I WANNA GO WITH YOU! And she'd hop down, grab my hand and carefully carry the item back to the table. Meanwhile, Hudson has discovered that anything he does is adorable so he was entertaining us while dipping the same crinkly french fry into the ketchup over and over, internalizing all the sugar that's in the ketchup – which only fueled him on to get sillier. How do parents do this all the time?!

I'm quite ready for it to be Friday. HELLO, WEEKEND. It's been an emotionally draining week.
Looking forward to taking a friend's two oldest children to see the new movie "UP", getting my car tuned up, and going for long walks in hopefully spring-like weather.Meanwhile, here are some photos on which to gaze.Images: dress, design, decor -

"Eye of the Tiger" has been in my head since hearing the kids from PS22 singing it yesterday.
I particularly like the boy in the green shirt who is not as into it as the others. I love watching the kids nod, sway, and move to the music. One of the best times on my San Francisco trip last week was going to brunch with Linda and Madeleine before a surprise they were taking me on. We sat in a quiet restaurant, eating brunch, and catching up. Soon enough we were on the surprise – a 30 minute speedboat tour of the Bay where we whooped and hollared and lost our voices. A mere 30 minutes after that, we're in Starbucks, quietly catching up again.Later I just shook my head and thought of the quiet brunch, CRAZY WOMEN SCREAMING ON A SPEEDBOAT TOUR, then quiet catching up over coffee.
