Clogs and crazy socks - via apt therapy houseu tour - dumplings

1. My Dansko clogs are old and shabby-chic (and not in a good way)..so it's time for new ones.

2. I love crazy socks.  Where does one buy crazy, fun socks?  Gymboree? Gap Kids? Europe?

3. I'm short, so I choose pant lengths that Stacey/Clinton gasp at on What Not To Wear… Yes, I wear pants that end just above my ankle.  But last month, I decided to begin wearing Long Pants.  I then tried some on and while most of the pairs of pants I tried on fit great, the length went way past my feet and I looked ridiculous.  However, seeing these jeans rolled up helps me remember I could do the same thing. And oh yeah – getting them tailored would work too.

I also like the kitchen shown by the wearer of the crazy socks above.

I may paint my kitchen red.  I've been renting for two years and just signed up for another year.  CAN RENTERS PAINT THEIR APARTMENTS???  I always thought it was forbidden.  But is it really?  If I paint it back to boring-beige before I move out, is it okay to paint while I live there???

    regarding the pant length: i have the same problem. i’ve recently splurged on hemming and feel it is definitely worth it. be sure and bring your clogs (or whatever shoes you wear most often) and make sure they hem them long enough to look good with those shoes. also, if you happen to ever buy clothes from land’s end, they do hemming for free when you order. just measure your lenght and send that in and voila!
    as for painting the apartment: it definitely depends on the landlord. most of them are ok with light colors and definitely require a paint back (although some require you to pay for a professional (one of their choosing) to paint it back for you). so ask first. and I would recommend bringing in swatches of possibilities when you ask. but if you get the go ahead, I say do it. I really want to paint, but Shawn isn’t up for the idea…yet.

    WOO HOO! I love lands end…and didn’t know they hem for free! Good news.
    And as for the painting? I hesitate to ask….not sure why.. like they’ll
    yell at me?! Not likely…I suppose all they can say is “no”.
    What colors would you use if Shawn was up for painting your apartment?

    ask you landlord. most don’t care if you repaint before you leave.
    i’ve got some great stripey knee socks at target of all places. what amazes me is how expensive socks are. in my recent move, i seemed to have given my entire box of socks to goodwill on accident and have had to replenish. sheesh. i had some really great socks too….

    Okay, thanks, Sarah! I will ask my landlord. And I will stop by Target this
    week to look for pretty socks. So they’re expensive, eh?! Sorry to hear
    about the accidental donation of your sock box! Some lucky person is going
    to buy them all up at Goodwill!!

    Try Dollar Tree for funky socks if you have one in your area (someone may have already made this suggestion, I didn’t read them all! Not sure how I ran across this blog…… But I too wear crazy socks and had to comment!
