Amy of Sweet Sweet Life tagged me to share seven things about myself.

1. music: Amy's list o' seven was all about music. I am admitting here that I know little about music.  There are thousands of great bands out there, and I know none of them.  Thus, any musicians/groups you'd recommend, I'll gladly listen to!  My current favorites are Jack Johnson, Corinne Bailey Rae and Norah Jones.  (mellow MUCH?)

2. childhood: I lived in Korea from about the ages of two to 10: in Seoul and in Taejon. Thus I missed out on a lot of American stuff (including music!) but I got to grow up overseas.  I consider that cool enough to counteract the missing American experiences.

3. watching: I'm addicted to finding new material by the comedian Tim Hawkins.  Went to his performance Saturday night and got a photo taken with him after.  I had laughed and laughed until my cheeks hurt.

Roller skates
4. skating: Wanted to compete in roller skating figure skating competitions when I was younger.  Then it switched to figure skating in ice skating.  Did not pursue either, but am still dreaming of owning both a pair of white roller skates with pom-poms on them and a pair of white ice skates – and looking graceful while skating.

5. secretly creative: Maybe I should say inwardly a creative-wannabe…. I can draw stick figures but appreciate beauty around me – I just can't recreate it.  It's like a music pastor I once knew – who wasn't very musical but he was the most content hearing beautiful music and leading a choir.   I love art, beauty, pretty photos and beautiful objects found in everyday life.

Chronicles of narnia - b - w
6. reading: I have been reading beyond grade level since I was six.  At seven I was given the set of books in the Chronicles of Narnia series and read the entire set at least twice that year.  I blame my nearsightedness in a family of non-vision-impaired people on too many of my late nights under a blanket with a flashlight – reading books at close range.

7. driving: dream vehicle for looks is a red Toyota Rav4* but for function and durability – a Honda CRV. However, my 12 year old Honda Civic, Sophie, is hanging in there.  Until it no longer runs, I'm with Sophie. After that? A new-to-me small SUV!  [*I see Rav4's everywhere I go.]

Tagged no longer!  My turn to tag……Nicole, Sharona and Erinn    Please feel free to participate but there's no pressure.  Anyone else want to share their "seven"?

Ha! We saw Tim Hawkins last month, and I laughed so hard I thought I had a charley-horse in my throat! As far as music, try The Decemberists. We love them! Ooh, and Wilco (from Chicago area!).

Oh my goodnesssss–this is what the internet is for. While looking for something completely unrelated, I was drawn in by this picture, and ended up reading this post. So! I’d love to recommend some music! I’ll try to stay within what you’ve already shown interest in: Elliot Smith, David Gray, Iron and Wine, Sufjan Stevens, Clogs; these are a bit less related, but The Books, Sigur Ros, Karsh Kale, Vetiver, Samite. Mellow, but interesting! And don’t underestimate the power of soundtracks. I recommend those of The Assassination of Jesse James, Amelie, and The Royal Tenenbaums.I hope this helps you out and brings you joy!

Thanks, FRF and Maridee! Such great music ideas! I’ll explore the music of those artists for sure!
